"We, should consider that some students have an allergy, or a common cold and sneeze, or some have a normal temperature of 37 degrees, we should not postpone their exams for the reasons named above," said the head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.
According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, similar symptoms, especially in summer, maybe characteristic of various diseases.
"The whole world is living in a pandemic today. The virus changed many things, and we need to change our approach to the Unified National Examinations because the largest number of people come together during exams, which increases the risk of spreading the virus. We should do everything we can and ensure there are no infected students at the exams, who can become the source of infection. Recommendations have been developed for this. In particular, as you know, several main symptoms are characteristic to COVID-19, such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. We should try to diagnose people with these symptoms in advance," Gamkrelidze noted.
The Unified National Examinations will start on July 6 and end on July 25.
