The Baptist Church marks Thanksgiving Day. The State Agency for Religious Affairs of the Georgian government congratulates Baptists on this holiday.

Thanksgiving is related to a story that took place in 1621 in Plymouth (USA).

History says that more than half of the settlers could not survive the first winter and died from cold, hunger, and disease.

However, residents - Indians - came to the aid of the British. They taught the colonists how to grow corn and told them about the peculiarities of local hunting.

In November 1621, the settlers who reaped the first harvest organized a day of bringing gratitude to the Lord, inviting Indian tribes to the holiday. This event is considered the first Thanksgiving in the United States.

Under the decision of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, since 1863, Thanksgiving Day is a public holiday.
