"The government decided to impose restrictions on Georgian and foreign citizens at the border and temporarily suspend direct flights to Italy," the governmental administration informed report.ge.
"There are certain restrictions at the Georgian border. When returning home from countries with epidemic risk identified by the World Health Organization, the citizens of Georgia must go through an intensive examination and spend 14 days in quarantine. Foreign citizens traveling to Georgia, who visited countries with epidemic risk identified by the World Health Organization in the last 14 days, are required to undergo the same procedures as Georgian citizens; or submit a PCR certificate on coronavirus (COVID-19), issued by the relevant laboratory of the country of departure, and, in case of transit, by the relevant laboratory of the country of transit," reads the statement.
The Government of Georgia calls on citizens to refrain from traveling to countries with epidemic risk identified by the World Health Organization, including China, South Korea, Italy, and Iran.
A total of nine coronavirus cases have been detected in the country so far.
