"By the end of February, we can guarantee that the vaccine will be available in Georgia, and we will start vaccinating the population," the Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze noted.
According to her, she will do her best to introduce a quality vaccine in Georgia.
"Today, we received a letter that the Covax platform, where we are a member and have paid a certain amount for the vaccines, has been activated. By the end of February, we will be able to start vaccination.
As for which vaccine will be introduced, we are talking about the "Pfizer" vaccine at this stage. We were asked to provide additional information about the "cold chain" to see if the country could receive the vaccine. We have already sent the information back to them so that they can have a guarantee. We are talking about a bilateral guarantee," Tikaradze said.
She said the medical chain, which includes vaccine storage refrigerators, already exists in the country.
