French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili on Independence Day, wishing Georgian people and her happiness and prosperity in his Congratulation Letter.

In his letter, Mr. Macron also congratulated the Georgian President on joining the EU mediation process and reaching an agreement. Additionally, he mentioned the recently flared-up tensions in the region and Georgia's success in demonstrating its resoluteness to follow the path to NATO and the EU.

The French leader also stressed in his letter that the current health crisis had put all countries worldwide to the test, and he promised his Georgian counterpart that they could rely on France, which stands ready to assist Georgia in coping with pandemic-related challenges.

The letter goes on to say that 2021 is a red-letter day in their bilateral relations as it marks the 100th anniversary of resettled Georgians arrival in France after the first democratic republic of Georgia was destroyed.

Emmanuel Macron also showed a desire to resume the bilateral Franco-Georgian cooperation within the framework of the Amilakhvari Dialogue.

At the end of his letter, the French President reaffirmed France's unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity
