At a decision of the government of Georgia, the transit of physical bodies to and from Iran is restricted.
According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Coordination working group was created at the order of the Prime Minister, since the first outburst of coronavirus infection in China. The Ministry of Health coordinates the Working group.
The Group is observing the coronavirus worldwide spread in 24-hour regime and undertakes all measures to prevent access of the virus into the territory of the country.
The first step was the canceling flight between Georgia and China. The government of Georgia supported Georgian citizens living in China to return home safely.
The next step was the warning issued by the government calling the population to refrain from traveling to Iran, followed by canceling the flights between Georgia and Iran. The Georgian citizens living in Iran are asked to contact the Georgian Embassy in Teheran through the hotline (+989122997726).
