Georgia joining the International Tree Planting Day

World celebrates International Tree Planting Day.

Georgia also joined the International Tree Planting Day. The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia organized a tree planting action in the yard of the public school of the village of Lelvani.

About 30 trees were planted around the school by the pupils who will take care of the garden. The forestry specialists informed the students about the importance of the profession and the forest maintenance.

The International Tree Planting Day is celebrated for over 145 years and was co-founded by Sterling Morton, American Botanist and Minister of Agriculture.
