Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II has sent a letter of condolences to President of Israel Reuven Rivlin.
“The accident that happened yesterday on Mount Meron led to universal grief and sympathy.
We share this grief and offer our condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, to all Jewish people. We wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the letter says.
A total of 45 were crushed to death, and over 150 were hurt in a stampede at the mass Lag B’Omer event in Meron mountain yesterday.
