Today, another doctor died of coronavirus in Adjara. The patient is 73-year-old Ilia Beridze, who was undergoing treatment at the medical center and was a doctor at the same clinic. Zviad Bakhtadze, the doctor treating the patient, told report.ge about his death.
He said the patient got admitted to the clinic on November 14 with a confirmed coronavirus.
"Ilia Beridze, a 73-year-old family doctor of our clinic, a well-deserved medic in Adjara, and a famous person in the medical field, died. He came to us on November 14 with confirmed infection and 22-point pneumonia, with more than 80% lung tissue damage. Also, he had concomitant diseases, including diabetes. He died this morning amid growing heart failure," Zviad Ruadze told report.ge.
Forty-one patients have died in the last 24 hours due to complications caused by a coronavirus in Georgia. 894 people died as a result of the virus in Georgia. 3 768 new patients tested positive for coronavirus in Georgia, while 4 055 patients defeated the virus. According to stopcov.ge, 96 860 people have COVID-19 in the country, of which 77 932 already recovered.
