Senior Advisor at the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services Zaza Tsereteli says in his social media post that a new coronavirus variant has been detected.
"South Africa has confirmed a new COVID variant, C.1.2, which is more mutated than the original virus or those so far identified.
England, China, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, New Zealand, Mauritius, Portugal, and Switzerland have so far detected the variant,'' Zaza Tsereteli wrote.
WHO has already been notified of the discovery of the highly mutated strain.
