The identifying and eliminating process of the so-called black spots will begin on the roads of Georgia.
The Parliament approved the draft amendments to Georgia's legislation on roads during the third hearing, with 87 votes in favor.
The initiator of the bill is the Government of Georgia.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs will identify the black spots and provide this information to the Department of Highways or municipal bodies.
After that, the Department of Highways or municipal bodies will develop rules for implementing appropriate measures. It may include the implementation of proper infrastructure work, as well as planning other short-term measures that will help improve the situation on existing sections.
According to the bill, the "black spot" refers to a section of road, not more than 300 meters, where at least four traffic accidents have been recorded in the last three years, ending with serious injuries or deaths, which reaches at least ten people.
