"Protesters were observed to take violent measures and disobeyed the police instructions, and the Interior Ministry used proportional force in a legal mode," Georgia's Interior Ministry said in its official statement.
The Ministry calls on all the citizens, protest organizers, and participants to follow police's legal instructions.
"The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs is an agency responsible for ensuring public safety. The Ministry provided safety and order all day long with the freedom of expression," it says.
"Later, at the end of the day, protesters attempted to rush into the Central Election Commission building that is clearly shown in video footage. Police officers did not allow them to do it," reads the statement.
