A 54-year-old man was killed in a fire in the village of Varkhani, Adigeni Municipality.
According to locals, the building where the man lived was wooden and the fire spread soon. The man was apparently asleep during the fire.
Three firefighter crews were working on the scene. The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
The investigation was launched by the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the third part of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which means damage or destruction of an item resulting in loss of life or other serious consequences.
