“Mr Zurab Guruli and Ms Eka Kvesitadze must make the apology,” – writes the Clinical Director of NCDC on her web page
According to Marina Ezugbaia, a Georgian doctor, living in the United States, Zurab Guruli, and TV Mtavari anchor, Eka Kvesitadze, are leading the planned discreditation of the COVID-19 Georgian clinical protocol and Georgian doctors through TV Mtavari broadcasts and their Facebook pages. They are doing it by tendentious interpretation of real facts as well as spreading false cues.
“Like, for example, they insist that Mr Nikoloz Gamkrelize, had a symptom-free form of COVID-19 disease and despite that, he was taking Plaquenil while staying at home quarantine and not at the hospital. On April 30, current year, Mr Nikoloz Gamkrelidze, being a participant of Reaction talk-show at TV Pirveli (anchored by Inga Grigolia), he clearly said that he had cough and pneumonia and spent 26 (twenty-six) days at MCDC hospital (and not in quarantine). While his stay in the hospital, he was taking Plaquenil during the ten days and he had not noticed any side effects of it; as a result, his cough left, and the remission process has ended with recovery, no complications detected. The fake information spread by Mr Guruli and Ms Kvesitadze is not harmless, since they can cause the mistrust of Georgian doctors in the society with the corresponding consequences, and they may shutter the reputation of our Center as well. I demand that Mr Guruli and Ms Kvesitadze apologize and reject the fake information publicly.” – writes Marina Ezugbaia.
