The Media Advocacy Coalition statement says that Public Broadcaster journalist Keti Tutberidze was devoid of the possibility to perform her job-related duties freely during the rally of 24 Dec 2021 by the Conservative Movement outside the Public Defender's Office, with protesters requiring the release of the 5 Jul detainess.
The statement goes on to say that the journalist was surrounded by people at the rally site and abused verbally. They further subjected journalist Tutberidze to cyberbullying, and this has encouraged further aggression against her.
According to the statement, one of the reasons for aggression against the journalist was her journalistic report called ''Dangerous Alt-Info Ideology.''
''Considering the mass crackdown on journalists on 5-6 Jul 2021, the coalition considers threats against Public Broadcaster journalist Keti Tutberidze hazardous that may inflict harm on her,'' the statement reads.
The coalition members call upon the Georgian Interior Ministry to respond to threats to which journalist Tutberidze has been subjected in the shortest possible time.
