A man in his late fifties has reportedly drowned in the Zemo Alvani village, Akhmeta Municipality, Georgia. He was tending sheep when he tried to cross the Alazani river on horseback. But he failed to do so as the strong current swept him away.
Rescue efforts were underway for a few hours, with rescuers finding the horse first and the deceased man afterward.
