The National Forestry Agency will provide its employees with life and health insurance.
The planned changes will apply to those employees of the National Forestry Agency who are entitled to register, monitor forests, implement forest and agriculture related measures, control exercise of the right to use forest resources, and eradicate illegal use of forest resources in the territory of the National Forest Foundation.
"Employees sustaining injuries in performing their job-related duties will be provided with one-time financial assistance. In the event of serious injuries, victims will be granted a one time pecuniary benefit in the amount of 7,000 GEL, in the event of not so serious injuries 4,000 GEL, and in the event of minor injuries 2,000 GEL.
Amendments to the law are particularly significant in view of the fact that those serving at the National Forestry Agency or regional forestry departments frequently have to fulfill their job-related duties while their lives are at threat.
In accordance with the amendments, the family of a deceased employee having died in performing job-related responsibilities, will receive financial assistance in the amount of 15,000 GEL, with 500 GEL being allocated for the deceased employees funeral.
In accordance with the new legislation, if actual place of residence of the head of the regional forestry department is located outside the territory of the Agency, or the place of residence is at least 30 km apart from the workplace, the National Forestry Agency will be entitled to rent a flat for the head of the regional department of the Agency. The corresponding order will be issued by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture before 1 January of 2020," reads information by the National Forestry Agency.
