The Public Defender's Office has published a special report on the Ninotsminda Children's Boarding School. As noted in the document, significant challenges remain in the boarding house despite numerous changes.
The Public Defender entered the boarding school at the end of June 2021 and assessed circumstances such as education, socialization of children, health rights, methods of punishment, and so on. While monitoring the Ninotsminda Children's Boarding School, it was revealed that the facility had been equated with torture and ill-treatment of children for years.
As a result of the investigation of the cases, the Public Defender addressed the Prosecutor General of Georgia with a proposal to conduct an effective investigation into the alleged crimes against children in the boarding school.
