Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has offered his condolences to late Georgian writer Guram Dochanashvili's family.
"I express my deep sorrow over the death of the modern classic writer Guram Dochanashvili.
Guram Dochanashvili left us with a rich artistic heritage. His catchphrases and unforgettable literary characters will forever remain in the memory of Georgian readers. Only a truly talented, sincere, and exceptionally humane creator can create such characters.
The most excellent writer of our time, Guram Dochanashvili, became a legend throughout his lifetime. He never lost the recognition and love of the Georgian readers.
I offer my sincere apologies to his family, relatives, friends, and the Georgian public, everyone for whom Guram Dochanashvili's work is dear and loved," the Prime Minister said.
Georgian writer Guram Dochanashvili died today at 82.
