Coronavirus-infected Tengiz Tsertsvadze, the head of Tbilisi's infectious diseases, Aids and immunology research centre, has been hospitalized after his health condition worsened.
"Tengiz Tsertsvadze's body temperature stands at 38˚C. Computed tomography showed that he suffers from double pneumonia. Laser scanning cytometry showed that his immune system response is also worsening. Since Mr. Tsertsvadze is a patient at high risk, who is a senior citizen diseased with Hodgkin's lymphoma, he has been hospitalized and given remdesivir drug," the statement by Tbilisi's infectious diseases, Aids and immunology research centre reads.
As for Mr. Tsertsvadze's wife, Ana Topuria, she is stable, undergoing treatment at home.
Tengiz Tsertsvadze tested positive for the new coronavirus on 17 November. His spouse also tested positive.
