Tsertsvadze says in-country transmission of coronavirus ended

In-country transmission of the new coronavirus has almost come to an end, according to Director of the Infectious Diseases hospital Tengiz Tsertsvadze.

"We hoped that by late-April the virus would have peaked, and after two or three weeks, we would be on a downward slope. I reckon that we are on this slope now and do not jump at hasty conclusions only because we had one case today. In the immediate future, we may see four, five, ten cases, but do not be scared as this will change nothing in the end," Tsertsvadze said, adding that the country is past the peak now and in-country transmission of the virus has ended.
