The U.S. warship Donald Cook has entered the Black Sea to conduct routine maritime security operations to support regional stability. The U.S. Embassy in Georgia spreads the information about this.
"Operating in the Black Sea is a sign of loyalty to our partners and allies in the region. It is an important diplomatic mission. Donald Cook has experienced the hospitality of the Black Sea countries many times," said Kelly Jones, the ship's commander.
The U.S. Navy conducts routine operations in the Black Sea with NATO allies and partners. These include Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine. It is in the world's interest to maintain a stable, prosperous Black Sea region and deter aggressive actors seeking destabilization.
