The main Christmas tree of the capital will be lit in front of the Parliament building on December 10, at 20:00.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated about it at the government session of the capital today.
"Unlike last year, when we were not able to hold a public event, this year we are going to hold a Christmas tree lighting event in front of the parliament, on Friday, December 10. Nodariko Khutsishvili's band and the group "Newton" will perform in the evening," said Kakha Kaladze.
As for the New Year program, according to the Tbilisi Mayor, unlike previous years, this year, the New Year events will be quite large and diverse.
"On December 24, we want to officially open the "New Year Village," which will be located in Orbeliani Square and Dedaena Garden until January 14.
During the holidays, New Year's markets will be traditionally held on Orbeliani Square and in Dedaena Garden, and various food outlets will be open," the Tbilisi mayor said.
According to him, a big Christmas concert will be held on January 7.
As for the New Year, according to the Tbilisi Mayor, on December 31, a gala concert will be held on the grand, decorated stage on the First Republic Square, which will involve up to 300 participants.
At the same time, the Mayor of Tbilisi noted that the events planned to celebrate Christmas and New Year would be carried out following the regulations on coronavirus in Georgia.
"We must vaccinate to protect the lives and health of each other," - said the mayor of Tbilisi.
