World Science Day for Peace and Development is an international day established under the initiative of UNESCO that highlights the important role that science has in society and is celebrated each year on November 10. It also highlights the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues. To get involved in on-line discussion UNESCO offers to use #ScienceDay and #OpenScience hashtags.
Starting from 2001 multiple projects and programs have been implemented in the framework of World Science Day for Peace and Development.
