ADY Express LLC, a subsidiary of the Azerbaijan Railways, has started transporting new types of cargo in export mode, the company official website reports.
As the company states, the number of innovations has been introduced in the implementation of the next project aimed at increasing the export potential of Azerbaijan. The innovations concern both the type of cargo and the chosen route.
Currently, ADY Express transported polypropylene, a product of SOCAR POLYMER LLC, to Kazakhstan. Unlike previous shipments, the route did not pass through the Caspian Sea, but through Russia. Thus, covered wagons provided by ADY Express were loaded at Sumgait station and delivered by rail to Almaty and Kokshetau, Kazakhstan. The main advantages of the new route were the speed and mode of transport.
The first batch of cargo transported in test mode has already been delivered to the destination. The successful transport process has ensured that the project will be sustainable, the company says.
