Organized by the Georgian Farmers' Association, a panel discussion took place in the village of Udabno - "Pandemic Opportunity or Challenge for the Agricultural Sector."
According to the Georgian Farmers Association, the US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Georgia Ran Gidor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands Maaike Van Koldam, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava, the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, representatives of diplomatic corps, agro-tourism facilities and donor organizations from different countries attended the event.
The platform agrogate.world, created by the Georgian Farmers' Association, unites the agro-tourism facilities of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in one space. Through the online platform agrogate.world, tourists will be able to book both accommodation and master classes at the agro-tourism facility. Videos created in two languages will be posted on the website along with the photo material, which will make it easier for the user to find information.
"Agrotourism, as a form of recreation and development, is a world-recognized direction that is becoming increasingly popular. Tired people are more and more often fleeing to nature. Besides relaxation, agritourism also involves job creation, economic development, environmental protection, and some competition in business, which increases the prospects for rapid development. As world experience shows, the benefits of agrotourism are quite large. In order to develop agrotourism in Georgia, it is necessary to have a well-organized infrastructure," the Georgian Farmers' Association explains.
The gfadigital.ge and its five platforms (Agronavti; agroskills.ge; Agromap.ge; Smart Villige; Agrojobs.ge), created by the Georgian Farmers' Association digitizing agriculture, vocational training, tourism, and employment spheres was also presented at the event.
