''Anaklia Development Consortium will no longer resume the implementation of the Anaklia port project,'' Georgian Minister of Economy Natia Turnava said.
''For years, the consortium enjoyed opportunities and government support to complete the project. Unfortunately, we see no reason for trusting it again,'' she said, adding the topic has been 'closed.
She added that the Anaklia port remains a strategic project.
This week the Anaklia Development Consortium showed readiness to attract additional investment with the Georgian government and to continue working on the Anaklia port project.
The Georgian government officially terminated the contract with the Anaklia Development Consortium on January 9, 2020.
Afterward, it began searching for a new investor.
