Economic Minister says Georgia is on the right path of development

''The International Monetary Fund mission has praised the economic processes and structural reforms underway in Georgia,'' Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava said today.

''The economic growth of 2019 exceeds the initial forecast of the IMF. It projected 4.6%, and the real growth included 5,2%,'' she said.

According to her, the IMF highlighted the achievement, which implies the improvement of the external trade balance.

''The imports have not increased, but exports grew by 12,4%. The inflation, which was a challenge for all these months, gradually decreases,'' Turnava said.

''In general, the country is on the right path of development,'' said Natia Turnava, adding that investors also show vast confidence in the Georgian economy.
