European Investment Bank to allocate 5, 750,000 for Georgia

The European Investment Bank (EIB) will allocate 5,750,000 EURO to the Roads Department of Georgia.

The Georgian government will spend the money on the improvement of the roads and increasing the security level in Georgia.

The Roads Department plans to conduct five projects to improve the security of the road infrastructure in Georgia.

The state budget, the World Bank, and Asian Development Bank will finance the five projects.

As part of the ''National Strategy of Road Security 2019,'' the Roads Department of Georgia has already carried out projects of 8 million GEL.

According to the Interior Ministry, road accidents claimed 481 lives in 2019. Five thousand eight hundred thirty-nine accidents occurred in total.
