Georgia bans import, re-export, and transit from China

Georgia banned re-export and transit as well as live animals' import from China.

The Georgian government made the decision two days ago. Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia already signed the resolution.

As the Revenue Service of Georgia reported, the National Food Agency released information on the prohibition of animal products import from China, and the agency will search for further details.

Notably, China is among the top three import partners of Georgia with Turkey and Russia.

Georgia also banned direct flights between Georgia and China today.

The number of the Coronavirus death toll reached 123 in China, while 6,000 people remain infected.

The virus broke out in December 2019.
