Georgia introduces requirements for tourist transport

Interagency Coordination Council, headed by Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia, decided that intercity transport requirements will apply to tourist transport in Georgia.

The council members discussed the current epidemiological situation across the globe.

They emphasized the need for maintenance of control over the spread of coronavirus amid high mobility.

They stressed the need to maintain a cautious and gradual approach to the lift of tourism restrictions.

They said that for the government, the security of citizens is the main priority.

Specific restrictions remain in force on the movement of intercity transport in Georgia:

Wearing face masks

No air conditioning, open windows

Government bans to carry passengers if they stand in the transport.

Vehicles should be disinfected properly

Intercity travel resumed on June 8 in Georgia.
