As the State Audit Office report reads, the information system for pension management "Pension 2005", introduced by the Agency for Social Services, is outdated.

The office evaluates the productivity of the information system and the pension administration process, with data security and the procession of personal information.

Statistics expert Soso Archvadze agrees with the assessment of the State Audit Office regarding the Georgian pension system.

He says that the pension model should change, and it is essential to follow countries' experiences with a successfully tested model.

Archvadze claims it is 'quite possible' Georgia to introduce a new model in the pension system.

He says Estonia and Kazakhstan have successfully tested the model.

"It would be nice if we moved from a tough policy to a relatively flexible one,'' Archvadze concluded.
