As reported by the Civil Aviation Agency, the number of flights conducted in January-April 2020 decreased by 1,401.

The passengers' flow decreased in all airports of the country except the Ambrolauri airport in Georgia's Racha region.

The number is less by 32% than the number of flights in the first quarter of 2019.

The top five of the air companies is as follows:

  1. "Wizz Air Hungary" – 170 759 passengers - 24%;
  2. "Turkish Airlines" – 86 562 passengers - 12%;
  3. "Belavia" – 39 858 passengers - 6%;
  4. "Georgian Airways" – 38 262 passengers - 5%;
  5. "Pegasus" – 36 050 passengers - 5%.

Taking the pandemic into account, the prognosis for the nearest future is pessimistic.

The second quarter of the year will be especially critical for the aviation sector, as the governments of the world maintain restrictions on flights.
