“The Namakhvani HPP is one of the key energy projects that can help us reduce dependence on imports,’’ Director of the Georgian Energy Development Fund, Giorgi Chikovani said.
In his words, the 430-mega-watt cascade annually generates about 1,5 billion kWh power, and it equals 11.7% of Georgia’s total consumption in 2019.
“The numbers show how important this facility is from an energy point of view. I believe it is an important project not only for the energy sector but also for the economy,” Chikovani stated.
As he added, Georgia’s economy requires many such projects.
