Director of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency Ilia Tamarashvili visited a Georgian region of Kakheti to observe the progress of the agro-diesel support program.
Kakheti Governor Irakli Kadagishvili and Director of Socar Georgia Petroleum Levan Giorgadze also visited the region with Ilia Tamarashvili.
As Tamarashvili says, the agro-diesel support program continues smoothly.
"More than 12,000 beneficiaries already enjoyed the program. Farmers received more than 100,000 liters of agro-diesel and saved more than 70,000 GEL," Tamarashvili said.
As Socar Georgia Petroleum Director Levan Giorgadze says, farmers have no obstacle to enjoy the program at ten gas stations operating in Kakheti.
In his words, 'it is an unprecedented aid for the farmers.'
''The program has begun for several days, and farmers obtained 30,000 liters of diesel at a discount," Kadagishvili remarked.
Georgia's Public Service Halls and social centers and regional departments of ARDA and municipal information-consultations centers issue the agro-diesel discount cards.
The cards are also available in the Liberty Bank branches.
Natural persons are receiving the cards from May 20, while the land co-owners and legal entities will obtain the cards starting June 1.
More than 200,000 farmers will enjoy the program.
