A large-scale infrastructure project is underway to put a new drinking water supply network into operation in the Marneuli municipality.
After the completion of the project, eight villages of the three large administrative units in the municipality, a total of 19,107 beneficiaries, will have unhampered access to quality drinking water.
All guidelines by the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health are being followed. The project costs GEL 2 677 520, which was channeled into it from the central and local budgets.
The representatives of the central and local governments have familiarised themselves with the network construction site.
Ilia Begiashvili, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure said that the newly built network will resolve a really serious issue for the locals as, since the 1970s, these villages have been supplied by unsafe drinking water, which was used for irrigation purposes only.
