According to the National Wine Agency, the price of Georgian wine per liter passes $6 on the US market.
America-Georgia Business Council President Mamuka Tsereteli said that even in 2020 when the pandemic struck, Georgian wine sails saw an upward trend in the US.
In 2020, Georgian wine imports to the US dropped by 9.4% if compared to those of 2019. However, the price of imported Georgian wine increased by 21.4%, reaching $ 3.93 mln. Georgia exported one mln bottles of wine to the US last year.
The National Wine Agency plans to promote Georgian wine remotely via different online platforms. They plan to lay a special emphasis on the availability of online sales, social and media activities, and the support of importers and distributors. Red wines will enjoy an advantage in this respect as they have a larger share of imports in the US and other markets. Qvevri (clay vessel) wines are also planned to be popularized.
