SOCAR Energy Georgia, an affiliate company of Azerbaijani SOCAR, has provided the Azerbaijani students studying in Georgia with financial aid.

Students from different universities gathered in the administrative office of the company.

Director-General of SOCAR Energy Georgia Mahir Mammadov attended the meeting. In his words, the company will provide material assistance to 70 students.

In Mammadov's words, the company will assist the students again until the normal rhythm of life resumes.

''The company has always been ready to examine all requests and help the Azerbaijani students. I hope the hard period will pass shortly in both countries and normal life will resume,'' Mahir Mammadov said.

He says SOCAR realizes the social responsibility.

''SOCAR and other Azerbaijani companies transferred amounts to the Coronavirus support fund in Georgia. Besides, with our funds, we prepared 1,000 boxes full of food. In several days the families with limited resources will receive the boxes in different regions of Georgia. The company also assisted 160 people with disabilities in the Kvemo Kartli region. They regularly receive medications and medical services,'' Mahir Mammadov stated.

He noted that Azerbaijan always stands by its citizens.

PhD student of Georgia's Technical University, Azerbaijani citizen Tamara Tatarashvili thanked the Azerbaijani government and SOCAR on behalf of the students.

In her words, financial assistance is of critical importance for the students in such a hard period.
