Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Nino Tandilashvili met with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) coordinator, Nejla Demirdaro.

Nejla Demirdaro expressed her desire to cooperate with the forestry sector, including the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), in conducting firefighting and first aid training in Georgia.

"It is important for us to strengthen the capacity of the forestry sector. Sharing experience will help specialists in fighting pests and preventing forest fires," said Nino Tandilashvili.

The Deputy Minister highlighted the successful cooperation between the Environmental Information and Education Centre and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). Within the framework of this cooperation, training in the field of animal husbandry and food safety was conducted.

Nino Tandilashvili spoke about the development of aquaculture in Georgia and noted that Turkey is a leading country in this field; therefore, sharing the Turkish side's experience is particularly important for the development of the area.
