“The Southern Gas Corridor is now recognized not only by the participant countries but by the European Union member countries as well.” – said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, during the Southern Gas Corridor Council of Advisors Ministerial in Baku. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, opened the Ministerial.
According to Natia Turnava, now, after the last Ministerial meeting, the project of the Southern Gas Corridor has developed, and significant progress is achieved.
She also mentioned that a hundred percent of the planned construction works are completed in Azerbaijan and Georgia, Turkey has completed the infrastructural works as well,
“The initiation of the TANAP project in 2019 emphasized the importance of gas transit. As you already know, the Georgian Prime Minister attended the project inauguration, who said that the project had set the start of a new era of energy security. Before the TANAP and TAP projects, Georgia’s transit function was only at the regional level; now, we are presented as an international-level participant. I am happy with the fact that our country has another chance to represent itself in the international importance context” – said Turnava.
She believes that the success of the Southern Gas Corridor Project is one more proof of the joint effort in the projects of international importance.
“I am absolutely sure that the implementation of our mutual interest will help to deal with the challenges that exist due to the obstacles between the region and European Union,” – Natia Turnava said.
