According to the Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia, 100,000 doses of the Chinese-made vaccine "Sinovac" will be delivered to Georgia.
As Gabunia stated at the briefing after the meeting of the Clinical Council, the vaccination with "Sinovac" will start after the authorization by the World Health Organization. However, in case of delay in this process, the terms of its use will be discussed by the Board.
"100 thousand doses of "Sinovac," a donation of the Chinese government to Georgia, will arrive in the country today. The date of Sinovak's authorization has been announced in early May. We will wait for that, but if this process is delayed, the Board will discuss the terms of the use of Sinovac, taking into account the epidemiological risks. Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine use it. The results of "Sinovac" are quite reliable. It also has good data in terms of efficiency and significantly reduces the number of serious cases and deaths," Gabunia said.
