"A dead patient is a 54-year-old man who was undergoing treatment at the Republican Clinical Hospital in Batumi," the Ministry of Health of Adjara reports.
The ambulance brought the patient to the clinic on September 20 at 15:45, with acute respiratory failure, fever, and 80% lung damage.
"The patient was placed in the intensive care unit after post-resuscitation measures.
The doctors assessed the condition of the patient as difficult upon admission to the clinic. He had a complicated history: posterior breast cancer, respiratory failure, and heart failure.
Due to the complexity of the accompanying diseases, unfortunately, the patient could not be saved. He died on September 25 at 10:00 am," the Ministry of Health of Adjara said in a statement.
A total of 27 patients infected with coronavirus died in Georgia. The total number of laboratory-confirmed cases is 4 664, while 1 759 patients recovered from the virus.
