"652 out of 16 887 people infected with coronavirus in Georgia are in critical condition," Alexandre Khojevanishvili, the Chief of Operational Staff at the Interagency Coordination Council, said at a briefing at the government administration.

According to him, 329 patients are on controlled breathing.

"We have 652 seriously ill patients, including 317 in Tbilisi, 103 in Adjara, 159 in Imereti. There are 329 people on controlled breathing, including 162 in Tbilisi, 90 in Adjara, 33 in Imereti. There are 3 311 people at COVID hotels, including 1 560 - in Adjara, 1 207 - in Tbilisi, and 284 in Imereti. 8 658 people are treated at home," Khojevanishvili said.

Three thousand one hundred twenty new patients tested positive for coronavirus in Georgia. 

The first case of coronavirus got detected on February 26, 2020, in Georgia.

The World Health Organization recognized coronavirus as a pandemic on March 11, 2020.

The outbreak of pneumonia in China began in December of 2019.

China confirmed that coronavirus was contagious and declared quarantine in two cities on January 21.
