Citizens over the age of 45 will be involved in the AstraZeneca vaccination process.
The Deputy Minister of Health of Georgia Tamar Gabunia stated about it at the briefing held after the Immunization Council.
"As a result of the risk assessment and additional consultations, the Board supported the proposal to reduce the age limit for AstraZeneca to 45 years. Instead of 55, citizens over the age of 45 will be able to book a date for a vaccination with AstraZeneca tomorrow, at 20:00," Tamar Gabunia said.
Until now, the Astrazeneca vaccine has been available in Georgia for people over 55.
According to today's data, a total of 67 136 people have been vaccinated; the number of vaccinations per day is 4 689.
1 788 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Georgia today.
