From 2 September, all quarantine restrictions will be lifted in the Mestia municipality, with life returning to normal in the region, according to deputy governor of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region Nino Vibliani.
In Vibliani's words, around 5,000 PCR tests have been performed here. "In the village of Lenjer, Mestia Municipality, no virus signs have been detected. Despite lifting the restrictions, locals will be subject to thermal screening, with PCR tests also being conducted as planned," Vibliani said.
On 10 August, restrictions were imposed on Mestia, Ushgul and Lenjer after new coronavirus cases were reported in the regions.
