Five people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Georgia, Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the National Center for Disease Control said, adding that the contacts of the new coronavirus patients have not yet been traced. 

"The situation we are faced with now is a bit concerning as we have not traced the patients' contacts yet," Gamkrelidze declared.   

In the first half of the day, Georgia had 822 coronavirus cases, with five more confirmed recently.

Georgia reported its first coronavirus case on 26 February 2020. The WHO labeled the novel virus a pandemic on 11 March 2020. China saw the coronavirus outbreak in December of 2019. The country confirmed it is contagious on 21 January and declared quarantine in its two cities.
