Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said that the Coordination Council aims to opt for flexible management of Georgia's epidemiological situation and to find a solid ground to lift restrictions gradually.

The minister stressed that safety is a top priority, and restrictions must be lifted if only there is a guarantee that the case numbers will not increase dramatically as they already did in November and December.

Countrywide restrictions are set to be removed gradually from 1 February.

On 1 February, public transport will resume operations, and schools, shops, and malls will reopen in Batumi, Zugdidi, Gori, Poti, and Telavi.

Stores and trade centers have been reopened in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, and Rustavi.

Visitors are already allowed at food facilities and open areas in Ajara, where coronavirus case numbers have been low.

Restaurants, the foodservice industry, and hotels will keep rendering remote services in other regions for now.

Indoor and outdoor markets will reopen on 15 February in all cities.

On 1 March, public transport is set to resume operations countrywide.

The rule banning large in-person gatherings and the curfew remain effective.
