The deadline for customs clearance of vehicles expires today on May 31, 2021. Until May 31, the owner of the vehicle is exempt from the interest defined by the Tax Code of Georgia.
"For owners of vehicles who imported into the customs territory of Georgia from October 1, 2019, to May 1, 2020, the period of customs clearance has been extended to May 31, 2021, instead of March 1, 2021. The exception is when the time limit for delivery of this vehicle to the customs checkpoint after re-export has been violated," the statement issued by the Revenue Service reveals.
The Revenue Service calls on car importers to follow the customs clearance procedures and deadlines established by law.
