“We are not trying to avoid the responsibility for the death of the patient after the surgery”, Sulkhan Orzhonia, the Manager of the Zugdidi Referral Hospital said.
As for the beaten surgeon Giorgi Gerliani, Orzonia said that he is undergoing treatment at the Hospital but Ozoria doesn’t know the details of the attack.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspect in the beating of the doctor is identified and is the minor child of the dead patient.
The investigation was launched under Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which deals with violence.
After the official conclusion, the family will file a legal dispute to suspended the license of the doctor.
