Georgia Parliamentary Speaker Archil Talakvadze has met with the School of Leaders' students for the Earth Hour.

He spoke about climate change and the attitude of society towards it.

Emissions reduction, water management, alternative energy sources, forest resources and a green environment, waste management, and urbanization were the issues that were discussed during the online meeting.

"Many of us see climate change as a distant issue. In reality, this is happening here in our immediate environment. We are the ones who need to take care of the environment and make decisions that will protect us from the risks of climate change, pollution, and global warming in the future. It should be done by all citizens together with the government," Talakvadze stated.

With Archil Talakvadze, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Maia Bitadze and deputies Nodar Turdzeladze, Mariam Lashkhi, and Khatia Tsilosani took part in the discussion.
